MAGNUS FLORIN

Magnus Florin, born 1955 in Uppsala, is an author, literary critic and dramaturg.

 

Dramaturg at Dramaten, Royal Dramatic Theatre of Sweden, Head of Radio Drama at Swedish National Radio 2000-2006. Academic background in literature, history of ideas and ethnology.

 

Literary debut with Berättelsens gång (How the tale goes, 1989). Recent novels are Ränderna (The Stripes, 2010) and Förföljarna (The followers), all at Albert Bonniers Förlag.

 

Apart from the literary work Magnus Florin has contributed with literary criticism and essays in daily newspapers, literary magazines, books and radio programs at the Swedish National Radio.

 

He has collaborated with several composers in librettos for operas.

 

Nominated for the Literary Prize August Prize 1996, 1999 and 2010 for Trädgården (The Garden), Syskonen (Brothers and Sisters) and Ränderna (The Stripes). Received Swedish Radio’s Novel Prize 1999 for Syskonen and nominated for Ränderna 2010.
