JANNICKE LÅKER


Jannicke Låker (1968 Norway) lives and works in Berlin and Oslo. Studied at Trondheim Academy of Fine Art 1993-98. Låker is one of the few Norwegian artists who consistently work with video. She is mostly known for her uncompromising treatment of taboos such as shame, guilt, immodesty and mental abuse. Exhibitions at a.o. Whitney Museum in New York, Modern Museum in Stockholm, Museum of Contemporary Art Oslo and grantee (OCA) at Kunstlerhaus Bethanien Berlin in 2006. Låker’s works have been presented at several international film festivals. She was nominated for the ARTE Award at Hamburg International Film Festival 2009 and received the Terje Vigen Award and the Film Critics Award at the Norwegian Short Film Festival 2008.
