PATRIK AARNIVAARA

Over the last few years Patrik Aarnivaara has been grappling with the question of the filmic object as something occurring in the intersection between sculpture, viewer and image. His pieces are three-dimensional, on a human scale, made of an MDF, wood or metal structure with mirror or semi-transparent Plexiglas panels that frame, filter and reflect the subject like a camera.

Patrik Aarnivaara (b.1977) lives and works in Malmö, educated at Malmö Art Academy, Valand School of Fine Arts, Gothenburg and Goldsmith College, London. Recent exhibitions include: "Slow Motion is Monumental Sculpture" (2012), Gallery Charlotte Lund, Stockholm, kim? Contemporary Art Centre, Riga, Latvia; "Murder at the Savoy - Exhibition of a Crime" (2010), Malmö Konsthall; "Lunds konsthall presentation" (2010), Lund konsthall.
