Pálína Jónsdóttir is one of Iceland’s most innovative and acclaimed actresses. On stage she delivers a unique multi-faceted performance through a combination of creative and stylish physical theatre.

She began her performance career at the early age of 9 at The National Theater in Iceland and throughout the years her work has pushed the boundaries of artistic disciplines creating inventive progressive theatre.

Pálína’s theatre performance credits include: her award winning solo performance Völva – an interactive digital performance, National Theatre in Iceland by Pálína Jónsdóttir and Walid Breidi, The Sea-Mare for HVCCA written, directed and performed by Pálína Jónsdóttir, Infogee in Still Life with Commentator for the Next Wave at BAM ’06 by Vijay Iyer and Mike Ladd directed by Ibrahim Quraishi, Love-Sun-Lilly in the The Secret Face/Blinda kindin, a solo performance by Elisabet Jokulsdottir, directed by Steinunn Knutsdottir at the Here Arts Center, N.Y.C, Vienna’s Woman Art’s Festival, Idno Theatre and Silfurtunglið, Reykjavik and Bitola Macedonia; Edda in Landscapes with Argonauts for Compagnie Faim de Siecle, directed by Ibrahim Quraishi; Miss Julie in Miss Julie by August Strindberg, directed by Runar Gudrandsson at the Smidjan Theatre; Solveig in Peer Gynt by H.Ibsen, directed by S. Einarsson at the Leikfelag Akureyrar; Snæfrid the Dame of Iceland in The Fair Maiden by H.K. Laxness, directed by B. Hedinsdottir at The City Theatre in Reykjavík.

In Film and television her acting credits include: The Dance, by V.Heinsen produced by Isfilm, directed by Agust Gudmundsson; Vildspor by Simon Staho Balboa 2, Denmark; Devil’s Island, by E.Karason, directed by Friðrik Þór. Friðriksson produced by the Icelandic Film Corp.; In His Life – The John Lennon Story by Michael O’Hara, directed by David Carson, for NBC (USA).

A post-graduate of the prestigious Conservatoire National Superieure de Musique et de Danse de Lyon and The Iceland Academy of the Arts Drama department and Arts Education department. Pálína also studied at Columbia University in NYC, the Icelandic Ballet Institute, The Reykjavik School of Singing and The University of Iceland, for Philosophy and Literature. She speaks Icelandic, English, Danish and French.
