Ulf has worked as a composer and choral conductor since the 1980s.

He has composed choral works, one opera, theatre music, orchestral music and chamber music.  He has written commissioned works for Åbo Akademi University, for the Lutheran church in Finland and for many choirs and cultural institutions.  Lately he has worked a lot with music combining electronics with acoustical instruments and voices, as in the work “Resonances and Timbres” where he combines recordings of sounds from the city of Rome with with a flute, or “Tipping point” which combines recordings from the sea floor with the sounds from violin, bass clarinet, piano and percussion.
