Jakob Vedelsby

Jakob Vedelsby made his debut with poems in literary journals in 1990 and has published six novels. His novel "The Law of Humanity" gave him an international breakthrough and has so far been published in Denmark, Germany, Russia, China, Estonia and Romania. It will be released in Greece in 2019. The book is also translated into English. His latest novel "Moon Shadows" has so far been translated into Russian and was published in full length in the March 2017 issue of the literary journal “October” and in 2018  by the publishing house Eksmo. He is also the author of three non-fiction books. His new novel will be released in Denmark in 2019. 

 

Jakob holds an MA in Film and Media from the University of Copenhagen and is working as a freelance communication specialist. From 2014 to 2017 he was chairman of Danish Authors’ Society, and from 2011 to 2013 he chaired the Society’s Fiction Department. Jakob's work as a writer is rewarded with numerous grants from the Danish State and a variety of different foundations. During his stay at Circolo Scandinavo he will be working on his eighth novel.
