Arnbjørn Ólavsson Dalsgarð (b. 1971) is a Faroese writer and editor. He is a qualified librarian and has a Masters degree in Applied Philosophy from the University of Aalborg, Denmark. Arnbjørn began writing literature in 2004, mostly short stories, children’s stories and poems, and he had them published in magazines and anthologies. He has published two short story collections and a book about the history of Faroese Newspapers, and he is currently working on his first novel as well as a third short story collection. Arnbjørn has been awarded with a number of working and travel grants as a writer, and in 2009 he received the Faroese Literary Award together with Oddfríður M. Rasmussen for publishing Vencil, a literary magazin (2006-) in Faroese. Arnbjørn used to work as librarian (1999-2011), and from 2013-18 he was chief of Tórshavn City Library. Arnbjørn lives in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands, with his family.
