Martin Rane Bauck (b. 1988 in Oslo) is a Norwegian composer, mostly working with acoustic chamber music.


He has studied composition with Bjørn Kruse, Asbjørn Schaathun and Peter Tornquist at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, with Gérard Pesson at Le Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, and with Niels Rosing-Schow, Bent Sørensen and Hans Abrahamsen at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.

He has worked with renowned performers such as Ensemble Recherche, Cikada Ensemble, Scenatet, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Oslo Sinfonietta, Nouvel Ensemble Moderne, Mimitabu and Athelas Sinfonietta. Bauck is the artistic leader of Aksiom, a new music ensemble based in Oslo which he co-created in 2010. A recording of his piece ‘Misantropi IIIb’ will be released on Aksiom’s debut album on LAWO Classics, autumn 2016.
