HÁVAR SIGURJÓNSSON

Hávar Sigurjónsson (1958) is a playwright and journalist who studied drama and theatre at the Universities of Manchester and Leeds in England. He has worked previously as a director and dramaturg at National Theatre in Iceland, but concentrated mostly on his playwriting for the last 15 years. He has written several plays for stage, radio and television, most recently his play Midsummer was produced at the National Theatre in Iceland in 2012 – 2013. His plays have been translated and produced in several countries including Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, France, Croatia, Slovenia, Russia and Canada.

Hávar is working on a new play here in Rome, the production date of which is to be decided later.
