Sigurbjörg Þrastardóttir (Iceland, 1973) is a poet, a novelist and a playwright. Her poetry cycle Blysfarir (Torch Marches) was nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize in 2009 and subsequently released in German and Swedish. Further titles include the anxiety poetry wreath Brúður (Bridals), the deadpan stories in Óttaslegni trompetleikarinn (The Fearful Trumpeter And Other Stories), and the reversed-luck-novel Stekk (Jump), to name a few. Italian versions of her free verse first appeared in In forma di parole, translated by Silvia Cosimini. Additional translations span a dozen other languages, for various events and prints. Next up is her third appearance at the International Poetry Festival in Genova.
